Dilay  Taskaya

Dilay Taşkaya is an actress and multidisciplinary artist born in Izmir, Türkiye. After graduating from the prestigious Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Fine Arts with a Bachelor's degree in Acting, she was honored to be selected as an actress for the Istanbul Municipal Theaters, one of the most important theater companies in Türkiye, and she performed there for 5 years. In addition to her extensive theater work, Dilay has also showcased her talent in television series, films, short films, and voice-over projects, before moving to Canada.

Continuously honing her craft, Dilay has worked with renowned Turkish and international theatre and film directors like Ferzan Özpetek, Seren Yüce, Alexandar Popovski, Haldun Dormen, Art Babayants, and Daniele Bartolini. She has also collaborated with acclaimed acting coaches and attended workshops, both in Türkiye and abroad.

Driven by the human desire for connection, Dilay sees acting as a powerful tool for storytelling. Through theater and cinema, she believes we can bridge differences and share meaningful experiences.

Dilay acknowledges that the world is inherently unfair, and while she alone cannot rectify this, she firmly believes in the transformative power of art to foster greater understanding and empathy among individuals. She is committed to striving for a more just, aesthetically enriched, and collectively aware society. By telling stories that resonate deeply with people's experiences, she believes in the potential of art to bridge gaps and create profound connections between individuals. Currently based in Toronto, Canada, Dilay continues to collaborate, learn, and grow with artists from diverse backgrounds. Her enthusiasm for immersing herself in various cultural perspectives and artistic methodologies reflects her confidence that this journey will further enhance her work and broaden her understanding of the world.
